At the end of March, Meta 2i took a deep dive into the aluminium industry, visiting several flagship sites in the Rhône-Alpes region. This immersion, organised in partnership with the Fédération Aluminium France, allowed us to meet key players in this strategic, fast-changing sector.

👉 Three flagship companies opened their doors to us, each illustrating in its own way the energy, innovation and excellence of this strategic sector.

industrie de l’aluminium intérieur d'une usine

COREF (Rhône)

The first stop on our journey through the aluminium industry: COREF, a company based in the Rhône. A specialist in refractory materials, essential to industries such as metallurgy, ceramics, cement and heat treatment, COREF has established itself as a key player. We were impressed by the passion and expertise of its managing director, Mathieu Vincent, who passionately embodies the values of innovation and knowledge-sharing within his company.

Copal SAS (Isère)

Next, Isère, where we visited Copal SAS of the BALL group, an expert in surface treatment and anodising. Cutting-edge know-how, applied in particular to making aluminium slugs for aerosol cans. The visit was also an opportunity to see how our KmProd software supports them in their digital transition. We were delighted to meet Christopher MEDALIN, our local ambassador, surrounded by his motivated and committed team.

TRIMET France (Savoie)

industrie de l’aluminium Trimet

Our trip ended in Savoie, at TRIMET France, a major producer of primary aluminium. We were impressed by the size and technical sophistication of this plant, which designs, produces, recycles and distributes aluminium alloys for a wide range of industries. A fine illustration of the central role of aluminium in tomorrow’s industry.

Alongside the visit, we attended a fascinating talk on “Neuroscience and safety”, given by Isabelle Simonetto. An enriching session that led us to ask ourselves an essential question: can we always trust our brain? 🤔

A close-knit sector facing tomorrow’s challenges

These visits were also an opportunity for rich exchanges with other players in the sector: Aluminium Dunkerque, Constellium, Norsk Hydro, Installux Aluminium & Partenaires, and many more. These conversations helped us better understand the issues, challenges and opportunities of the aluminium sector in a constantly changing context.

These exchanges helped us better understand the challenges and opportunities of the sector, while enjoying the local Savoyard specialities! 🧀

🙏 A big thank-you to the teams at COREF, COPAL and TRIMET for their warm welcome and for sharing their know-how. Thanks also to Cyrille Mounier and his team for the flawless organisation of this immersion in an industry undergoing profound change.
