Some say \u201cyes, but my trade is a bit special\u201d, while others seek to automate (and therefore make reliable) their organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Automating and digitising<\/strong> also saves time and avoids operator fatigue. In some cases, scheduling managers plan production with Excel spreadsheets of more than 10,000 rows. Nobody can manage that without sooner or later making mistakes that will, at best, cause delays and, at worst, quality problems. Add to this the human risk of a key person being absent (the scheduling manager, for example) and the risk that nobody can take over, even partly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The solution for your scheduling:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To improve and optimise your production capacity, you decide to implement scheduling software for finer planning of your <strong>MOs (Manufacturing Orders)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 3 categories of solution to meet this need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Planning in your <strong>ERP software<\/strong> through a dedicated module<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>APS software<\/strong> (Advanced Planning and Scheduling)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>MES software<\/strong>, through its scheduling module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No category is \u201cbetter\u201d than the others. The right solution will depend on your company&rsquo;s context and, of course, on how well the company supporting you masters the tool it deploys for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/meta2i.com\/eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/12\/Logo_kmextrusion_noir-1024x150-1.png\" alt=\"Logo KmProd Extrusion\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Be aware that there is specific software for almost every trade. However, you must watch out for one thing: some software is \u201cadapted\u201d to certain trades, while other software is \u201cdedicated\u201d to certain trades. If, for example, you work in aluminium, the <a href=\"https:\/\/kmextrusion.com\">KmExtrusion<\/a> solution will be a better fit. If you run multiple productions or multiple materials, or produce small batches, a tool such as KmProd will be better suited, because it is adapted to this type of production.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Use your MES to manage your scheduling:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scheduling built into the MES draws on information that differs from one company to another:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Machine stoppages<\/strong> captured by the MES<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Available <strong>resources<\/strong>: machines, materials, people (schedules, availability, and also operators&rsquo; skills and authorisations)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information on the various <strong>MOs<\/strong> and <strong>sub-MOs<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Work in progress<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And also the <strong>variables<\/strong> specific to your trade, which we can adapt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/meta2i.com\/eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/04\/IoT.png\" alt=\"Pictogramme de l\u2019Internet des objets\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MES can then provide connected scheduling, in real time and on a variety of devices (laptop, mobile, tablet).
